Tehreek-e-Islah-e-Taaleem
Tehreek-e-Islah-e-Taaleem has not only introduced the vision of an Integrated Education System, but also envisages the establishment of model institutions free from educational dualism, producing individuals with balanced and comprehensive Islamic personalities.
Since such institutions require substantial financial resources, efforts are ongoing. In the meantime, the Safa Institute was established to reduce the harmful effects of dual education through short courses and to address the deficiencies found among graduates of both modern and religious systems. Safa Institute has been engaged in this mission for many years.
From August 2025, we have announced a two-year FA (Intermediate) program for matriculated students. This initiative, under Safa Islamic Centre, is based on the principle that the existing Dars-e-Nizami model of the madrasahs (largely an extension of Dar al-‘Ulum Deoband) has lost much of its relevance due to its exclusion of modern sciences and disregard for contemporary needs.
Thus, a new model of religious education is required, one that simultaneously fulfills both worldly and religious needs and remains connected to the evolving requirements of Muslim societies. Our aspiration is to create an institution offering education from school to PhD level (with government-recognized degrees), while also providing an environment conducive to excellence in Islamic sciences and the holistic development of personality.
For the curriculum of Islamic sciences, we intend to draw upon the syllabi of the Islamic University of Madinah and Al-Azhar University, adapted to our priorities. By Allah’s grace, land for such a major educational institution has already been generously donated by a benefactor. Further steps will, insha’Allah, continue as resources permit.
